Founded in 1915, the Institute for Supply Management™ (ISM) is the largest supply management association in the world as well as one of the most respected. For 16 years, PISM conducted the Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) Review and Exam Program that has helped define and prove the value of purchasing and supply chain management. As the profession evolves and becomes increasingly linked to every business process at every organizational level, PISM offers the profession's most rigorous qualification, the Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM). The International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management (IFPSM) is the union of 43 National and Regional Purchasing Associations worldwide including the Philippine Institute for Supply Management. Within this circle, about 200,000 Purchasing Professionals can be reached. It is a non-political, independent and non-profit oriented International Organization, registered in Aarau, Switzerland. IFPSM facilitates the development and distribution of knowledge to elevate and advance the procurement profession, thus favorably impacting the standard of living of citizens worldwide through improved business practices. International Trade Center UNCTAD/WTO Geneva In January 2001, PISM signed an MLS (Modular Learning System) agreement with the International Trade Centre as a commitment in providing training in International Purchasing and Supply Chain Management with practical, user-friendly and unique approach. ITC is the focal point institution in the US system providing technical cooperation to developing countries and economies. It developed the MLS in cooperation with other partner organizations to provide local institutions with an effective tool for quality training.
